Cook, Carrie

Welcome to Mrs. Cook’s Class!

Do you need to contact me?  I would love to hear from you.

My email is:

You can message me on Remind!

I will do all I can to help your child succeed.  If you feel I need to know about something, tell me.  I can only help with things I know about.

Important things to know:

Check your child’s folder/Google Classroom daily.  Ask them questions and discuss any issues they may have had.  THIS WILL make all the diference.

Want to improve your child’s reading skills?

Several studies have shown that captioning and subtitles can help strengthen many areas of reading proficiency for students with learning disabilities, for beginning readers, and also adults learning to read.

Improved skills include:

  • Reading speed and fluency
  • Word knowledge
  • Decoding
  • Vocabulary acquisition
  • Word recognition
  • Reading comprehension
  • Oral reading rates

HomeworkHW is due every week on Friday.

Weekly quizzes: We will have a weekly quiz covering the skills from the weekly HW assignment.

MATH FACT FLUENCY:  We will review our multiplication facts in class.  So much of what we do is built upon our quick recall of multiplication facts.  If your child is struggling to quickly recall multiplication facts, please practice daily. One valuable resource is reflex math.  Your child has a username and password.
