I began my teaching career in 2004 teaching first grade, here at Magnet Cove School District. I taught first grade for five years before moving to the Special Education Department where I taught students with disabilities from Kindergarten through high school for five more years. During my fifth year in special education, I also worked as the Special Education Director for my district. In 2014, I moved into a district-level adminstrative position where I work as the Curriculum Director, Federal Programs Director, and Special Education Director for the Magnet Cove School District. At the start of the 2017-2018, I enthusiastically moved into hybrid role of Elementary Principal/Assistant Superintendent. I am starting year four in this role and even in these crazy times, I am loving EVERY minute of it!
In 2000, I married my husband, Jody McCutcheon. We have been married for 20 years and have 3 children. Madelyn, who is starting her 3rd year of college at the Unviversity of Central Arkansas, Maceon who is in the 10th grade, and Marleigh who is in the 9th grade. We have one REALLY old cat (he is 18!), named Meow, and four dogs who can often be very ornery sometimes!
When I am not working, I enjoy watching my kids particpate in their various hobbies including; football, basketball, travel softball, and marching band. I also enjoy reading every chance I get!
