Magnet Cove Choirs-

2016-2017 Final 9 Weeks Calendar

April 13th: Talent Show Magnet Cove Auditorium, 7:00 PM (contestants arrive at 6:30 pm).

$5 admission.


May 11th: Spring Concert Magnet Cove Auditorium, 7:00 PM (students must arrive at 6:30, see uniform info below**) REQUIRED


**Spring concert attire will be different than the normal choir uniform requirement. We will be ordering choir t-shirts (within the next few weeks) to wear with blue jeans.





-Junior High Girls Ensemble CPA Competition: Friday, February 24th. Leaving from school at 12:50 PM- bring uniform to school to change into OR wear to school. Arrive back at school at 3:35 PM (bus riders need to make other arrangements that day).


-Junior High Small Ensemble Solo/Ensemble competition: Saturday, February 25th. Leaving from school at 9:50 AM! Performance is at 11:00. Will eat lunch at McDonald’s (bring $$$), then return to Magnet around 1:15 PM.


**** Required for all choir students. Permission slips going home tomorrow- due back on Friday, February 17th


ALSO!! Don’t forget: Pre-CPA concert on February 21st at 7:00 PM in the Magnet Cove Auditorium! Students must arrive at 6:30 PM in full uniform. This is required for all choir students 6th-12th grade!



Lilee Walker (Junior) of Magnet Cove Schools made the 2017 All State Choir! She represented our school at the Hot Springs All State Music Conference on February 16-18, 2017. WAY TO GO, LILEE!! :)








February 21st- Pre-CPA Concert, Magnet Cove Auditorium 7:00 PM (Students arrive at 6:30 in full choir uniform to receive full points) REQUIRED all choir students 6th-12th.


February 23rd OR February 24th- CPA competition at Henderson State University. Time and exact date TBA (I will get that info from ArkCDA at the beginning of February). Students must arrive on time in full uniform to receive full points. REQUIRED for all choir students 7th-12th (6th grade does not participate).


February 25th- Solo/Ensemble Competition at Henderson State University. Time and exact date TBA (I will get that info from ArkCDA at the beginning of February). Students must arrive on time in full uniform to receive full points. REQUIRED FOR JH SMALL ENSEMBLE ONLY!!

  • -December 12th: Dress Rehearsal (3:45-5:00 PM)


-December 15th: Holiday Choir Concert (7:00 PM, students arrive at 6:30). **

**attendance to both the dress rehearsal and concert are required as stated in the choir handbook agreement (worth 150 points per event). For all choir students 6th-12th grade.  





All Region (Senior High and Junior High both) $10 fee due NEXT MONDAY (September 19th).

-If I do not have your child’s money by then, they cannot audition :( 


JH All Region Tryouts are on Satuday, October 15th (not the 22nd).

Please let me know immediately ( if this changes your child’s plan to audition. Sorry for any inconvenience! 


High School All Region Workshop at Henderson State University is Saturday, September 17th! Please get your permission slips into me ASAP.  Will leave the school at 8:15 AM and return at 12:25PM (ish). See you there! 


Thank you to my choir kiddos for a great first week of school!! Last page of the choir handbook was due today. I will take it on Monday for half credit. Have a wonderful weekend!!! :)
